Ronald (Doug) Houston, 62, passed away February 8, 2024, at his home in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Funeral services for Doug Houston will be 11:00 am Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Immanuel Memorial United Church of Christ, 212 West Street, Alden, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Burial will be at 1:30 pm at the Friends Cemetery, Iowa Falls. The Linn’s Funeral Home, Iowa Falls is in charge of the arrangements. Ronald Douglas Houston was born October 4, 1961, in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Billie Ronald and Nola Ella Jane (Moore) Houston. He graduated Iowa Falls High School class of 1980. Doug enlisted into the Army in February of 1986 serving for ten years. On September 22, 1989, he was united in marriage to Julie Mae Baumann and to this union two daughters were born Cassandra and Stacy. Doug drove truck for J.B. Hunt and most recently Brown Logistics until retirement in 2021. He really enjoyed listening to music and talking about his past and reminiscing about memories. He also enjoyed mowing the yard, working in his shop, working on his dads old tractor, collecting guns, sitting on the porch and watching the traffic, and spending time with his dogs.
Doug is survived by his wife: Julie Houston of Iowa Falls; two daughters: Cassandra (Wayne) Hedden of Belmond, Iowa, Stacy (Aron) Fye of Alden, Iowa; his father: Ronnie (Rosie) Houston of Jonesboro, Arkansas, his mother Nola Houston of Casa Grande, Arizona; sister: Paula (Boyd) Allen of Eagle Rock, Missouri; sister: Lisa (Steve) Munoz of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; brother: Sam (Lori) Houston of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sister: Kari (Kent) Johnson of Raymore, Missouri ; brother: William (Magally) Houston of Casa Grande, Arizona; three grandchildren: Houston, Arianna, Lincoln; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Willie and Vergie Houston and Roy and Nina Moore.
